Lethal Shots

And another week has passed us by. Got a lot on my mind this time :

• More maintenance today, with more realms getting hardware upgrades. I am retracting my previous guess of 3.1.2 today. I don’t think it will drop until all the hardware upgrades are done.
• It’s been a little slow on the raiding front for me lately, but there is a Ulduar-10 run scheduled for Wednesday. I can’t wait.
• My server went down last night. So I popped over to Ner’zhul to say hi to Amava and Matticus, then started working a DK through their starting area to kill time.
• I really miss Amava’s blog. Hopefully my small prompting will encourage him to revive it.
• I fail at scheduled weekly posting. I promise the next installment of Hunting Tactics will be out soon.
• I’ve been leveling Inscription as my DK’s second profession. So far I have gotten it up to 200. I don’t have an Herbalist, so all herbs have been coming from the AH. I’m just hoping I can at least break even by selling the junk I have to make to level it.
• I did join in on a successful guild run of VoA over the weekend, downing the new boss on the first try. Let me just say the new boss is way more fun than the old one.
• I tried leveling my Paladin, but I’m just not ready to grind through the old world again yet. So I have decided to work on my Death Knight. As of last night he is up to 63 and just started in Zangarmarsh.
• I healed a normal Gun’Drak for my friends in my alt-guild. It went great, and I think I am getting their interest primed for moving up into heroics.
• The biggest problem my friends in my alt-guild have? They under estimate themselves. These guys know their class and are solid players. With a few craftable gear upgrades and a few things from normal level 80 instances, they could be rocking heroics.
• My gem business is holding pretty steady. It’s not making me a millionaire overnight, but the income is pretty steady.

Another week passes us by. Whats cooking in the noggin?

• Naxx 10 cleared. A ton of fun. See previous post.
• I’ve started to use WoW Meter Online as opposed to WoW Web Stats. Sure WWS has a slicker interface, but WMO hosts reports perpetually for free and is less prone to extreme lag and long ques. So far I haven’t found any functionality difference between the two.
• My Shaman’s JC is up to 430. Now I just need to level him so he can start doing the JC daily in Dalaran.
• I am debating on what to do with my DK. Specifically his Enchanting. I am accumulating a small stockpile of mats. I am trying to decide if I want to sell them or go ahead and continue leveling the profession. He can DE anything I get right now, but it would be nice to supply my own enchants. Any suggestions?
• I bought the leveling shoulders for my Paladin. Not a huge difference, but still noticeable.
• Started questing in Storm Peaks finally. Made 1000g in one day there. Not looking forward to the long grind with Sons of Hodir, but the money will be nice.

Another week, another restart. What’s on my mind?

• Valentines went off without a hitch. Italian food, dessert, and a movie puts Santyn in good with the wife.
• Still specced Survival. And topping the damage meters where ever I go.
• Made my first official trip into Naxx with Soulbound over the weekend. 10-man version. We cleared the spider wing and downed Patchwerk before calling it. Patchwerk was a blast, with me topping the damage meter at about 2750 DPS.
• My Paladin hit 20. He is loads more fun now that he has Consecrtion. I daresay I enjoy him more than my Death Knight.
• My Shaman is making slow progress in Borean Tundra. I find myself dieing a lot and constantly out of mana. I am blaming the large gear gap between Nagrand and Northrend. Hopefully I will overcome the gap soon.
• I started a baby Druid. This is my second one. The first one I took Feral, but i hated playing it. This one I am taking Balance in hopes he will hold my interest.

Another week goes by, so here is what is on my mind.

• The Shaman is almost to Norhtrend. Still need to work on his professions before he heads to the great north.
• I definitely need a better PC. 10-man raids with Vent running in the background are a huge lag-fest. Don’t even think about 25-man stuff.
• I specced Survival to try it out. It is surprisingly more fun than I thought it would be. More on that later.
• Wife finally convinced me to read the Twilight series. I actually thought it was pretty good.
• Why does every person I come across feel the need to wonder why a level 60 Death Knight is running through lowbie zones 1-shoting every mob in sight. I am leveling skinning you morons!
• Ghostcrawler says that they nerfed Hunters too much. No shit sherlock. Folks tried to tell you that on the PTR, but did you listen? No. Now fix us.

Now what’s on your mind?

Lately I’ve been spending a lot of my in-game time working on professions. This is mainly because I am now working 2 alts through Outland, and I want to be able to work on their professions at the same time. Here is a quick overview of where my characters are at.

• Santyn – My main of course, and my only level 80 character.
  • Mining: 450 – With the obscene amounts of ore I needed for Engineering, this was easy.
  • Engineering: 450 – I maxed this one a few weeks ago. Could have stopped at 440 when I got my goggles, but I really wanted to be able to craft the guns.
• Santen – My Shaman. I took Jewelcrafting on him. Cliche, I know.
  • Mining: 300 – Hit the other day while gathering mats for Jewelcrafting.
  • Jewelcrafting: 310 – Finally got to 300 last night, and then earned 10 more with some gems I had stockpiled. Profession wise, this toon is done with the old world.
• Santan – My Death Knight.
  • Skinning: 1 – I trained it, but have yet to spend any time leveling it.
  • Enchanting: 250 – Or somewhere around that. I don’t plan on this guy being a major player in the enchant market. I am leveling it mostly so he can Dis-enchant stuff for me.

I also have various other low level alts with professions at varying levels. Mostly these are gathering professions I took on them for leveling. As too secondary professions, Santyn is the only character that I have bothered to level them on. I might do it on the others later if i get bored.
